[Public-List] Tropical Storm Hanna Update

For anyone who hasn't checked an update, here are the highlights from the
2:30 p.m. NOAA update:

Center of Hanna is farther east than earlier reported and moving toward the
North near 20mph.

A turn toward the northeast with an increase in forward speed is expected on
Sat.

On the forecast track, the center of Hanna will pass about 60 miles to the
east of Washington DC.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 70 mph, with higher gusts, 
Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 315 miles from the center.

The latest minimum central pressure is 981MB/28.97 inches.

Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for most of the Chesapeake.

Coastal storm surge of 1 to 3 feet above normal tide levels expected along
the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay.  Highest water levels expected
during the high tidal cycle occurring late Sat. morning and afternoon.

Annapolis high tide is 10:01 a.m.  Chesapeake Beach is 8:44 a.m.  Baltimore
- 11:31 a.m.

Edgewater is prone to flooding.

Sustained winds of 30-40 mph with gusts to 50 are possible beginning early
Saturday morning and lasting into the evening.

There is a 30% chance of winds 39mph or greater in Annapolis.

Heaviest rainfall expected Saturday morning and afternoon, 4-8 inches
possible.

There is a risk of isolated tornados along and east of the 95 corridor
Saturday.
