I calculated consumption on 5hr for both anchor and cabin lights so a 15
watt panel is a little small. Any panel above 15 watts should have even
the most basic regulator installed. I have tried to build my own anchor
LED lamp and could not get and even enough light pattern to be used, and
the current was not much less than a 10watt bulb plus I could not
guarantee 3 mile visibilty.  Before you buy these lamps check the current
consumption you may be surprised how high it is. I have since found out
here in Canada replaceing lamps directly with LED's does not qualify as an
anchor light or navigation lights, but does if you buy the complete
assemblies, go figure.  Only in Canada Eh
