[Public-List] Access to prop shaft packing gland

On Emotional Rescue, #303, we cut an opening in the port cockpit lazerette, large enough to get access to the packing gland and the location where the prop and rudder post can be caulked. The opening then was covered with a piece of painted plywood to allow items stored in the lazerette to remain in place

I have the same vintage with the 2GM also. You should put a pillow over the motor or you will regret it then with two wrenches hold the stuffing box in check and loosen the nut. This is the reason I installed the dripless stuffing box, I can't stand leaning over the motor to align the shaft.
