[Public-List] Mast Heads for the Alberg

Stephen,

I have a question about the new mastheads if you have a moment:  I'm 
not quite getting what the "sheave" is that's included in the new one.  
On my mast, the main halyard runs up and through a sheave that is 
inside the mast, some inches below where the masthead attaches, and the 
masthead is not involved with it at all.  My masthead is a simple block 
of cast aluminum, with no moving parts (that is, it has tangs and holes 
in it, but no sheaves).

Does the new masthead somehow supersede the sheave that I'm talking 
about in the mast?  Or am I completely missing something? (Quite 
possible.)

Cast aluminum parts don't last forever, and I think it's wonderful of 
you to do the legwork and coordinating on this group buy of the 
masthead for those who might need (or simply want) it.  Thank you very 
much.
