[Public-List] loose casting on propeller shaft at end of keel

In hull #283 the machine screw is threaded into the fiberglass. Lot's of bulk, but not a good practice imho. The alignment and strength are the result of the pipe (brass/bronze) threaded into the end of the housing and shoved into the bedding compound.

That is the cutless bearing housing. There should be a bunch of past posts in the archives on the subject.?

Basically, removing the two bolts allows the assembly to be unscrewed from the packing gland assembly inside the boat-that is held in place with a bunch of silicone/bedding compound/???.?
