Eighth Annual 
 
HOPE ISLAND RACING CONFERENCE
 
Aug. 15th & 16th 2009
 
We welcome all sailors to enjoy two days of sailboat racing among Georgian
Bays most 
beautiful navigable islands. The HOPE ISLAND RACING CONFERENCE (HIRC) is a
casual meeting of like minded sailors, wishing to race amongst each other
and meet 
socially in the Hope Island region.
 
Hope Island is centrally located about three hours sail from Midland or
Collingwood. We 
plan on arriving late Friday evening, but some may elect for an early start
Saturday 
morning, arriving by 10 am skippers meeting.
 
The anchorage of choice is Sandy Bay on the south side of Hope Island but if
the wind is 
southeast to southwest, Big Sand Bay on the north side of Christian Island
is well 
protected by Daly Pt.
 
We will monitor VHF ch 16 for confirmation on your approach Friday night or
Sat 
morning.

Saturday Aug.15   10:00am...skippers meeting onboard Sandpiper, CC 35 mk 1
                               11:00am...START

Saturday night... ŒConference¹ (aka beach party)
 
Sunday Aug. 16    9:30am.... skippers meeting
                              10:30am....START
                               2:30pm ....AWARDS
   3:30pm.....homeward bound
Notes:  
1- An entry fee of $ 15.00 will be collected to cover the cost of awards and
our RC 
boat running expenses.
2- Note: there are NO facilities in the area....come equipped.
