It sounds like you had a less-than-wonderful experience with an 
outboard on the back of your A-30, but in fairness to the original 
poster, perhaps he sails in a typically wave-sheltered area (?)  Or 
maybe he knows that there will be downsides to the outboard (as there 
are to an inboard), but is still considering it for one reason or 
another, maybe temporarily?
