On Emotional Rescue #303, we don't put anything on. At the Yard's that we have used in Chicago. they don't put anything on. Perhaps it was lanolin to protect/coat the bolts?

Ahoy,

I'm ready to step the mast on Tiana. It appears that the previous
mast-stepper applied some sort of goop atop the mast step plate. I've
scraped it and dug out the four bolt holes for the mast base so they
screw in easily.

What, if anything, should be applied to the plate before stepping the
mast?

Thanks,

Dennis
Tiana (#436)
