[Public-List] Backing up

Always a lively discussion topic on this list..

Rinn Duin #272 has the original 2-bladed prop and Atomic 4. She will
only back to starboard under power. The best way to moderate this effect
is to use bursts of power. I generally come along the docks with the
slip to starboard, dead slow, then goose the throttle and throw the
rudder to starboard. She turns quite rapidly with the prop wash over the
rudder. Go back to neutral as soon as she is turning. When at about a
15 degree angle to the slip, hard reverse for a few seconds, then back
to neutral. This gets her moving enough to use the rudder. Use more
bursts of reverse as needed.

Subject: [Public-List] Backing up

Has anybody found a way to steer an A-30 when backing up? Is there a
propeller that works better than others?
