Subject: [Public-List] How to clean the 'Varnish' from a Gas Tank?

I have a fuel / gas tank that I'd like to use again soon. It has been
sitting for a number of years with gas in it. I realized that I would need
to clean it and have been researching the solvents necessary to clean it.
- Some old timers on the web suggested Lye with water in the tank -shake
then dump
- others have suggested everything from Acetone to kerosene to just
gasoline. I am not sure what is the best approach other than cutting open
the tank & scraping everything out.
