Subject: [Public-List] Loose footed mainsail question

Hello all, 


I would like to inquire if anyone flies a loose footed mains'l on their A-30? I am replacing my main and Genoa with some new tri-radial darcon cruising sails, and the guys at North Sails suggested a loose footed main to make it easier to remove whilst idleing along in the howling gales of the century outshore. 


So I am inclined to stay with the good old machine screw fastened foot to boom arrangement, but would like to know if anybody has a comment on Alberg performance with a loose footed main -- Yep I know this is heresy , but hmm, I am thinking why not ??
