My advice - select, trim and reef your sails to the boat, the
conditions, and the crew!
My daughter Rachel once responded to a near-knockdown with a questioning
"Dad???"
My first mate Patricia has a more vociferous response to a steady 25
degree heel.

Just to let everyone know; you don't have to be a kid to be exhilerated
by a (near) knockdown. Tracey and I were taking a couple of friends
across the lake to St. Catharines last summer, and they thought it
tremendously exciting in spite of being 30-ish. Our casualties were an
old handheld GPS and our (emergency) spare front nav lights, which
floated away. (Tracey, Xana, and I weren't quite so thrilled.)
