Rachel,

I spent most of the afternoon evening going over the rebuild that Tim Lackey did on "Rookie". What a fabulous job! I wish it showed total hrs and cost. Thanks for the link.

Although there is a lot of Triton variation, it seems to be pretty well established that East Coast-built Tritons had external ballast up to and including hull #381; and the the EC boats after that had encapsulated ballast (#382 onwards).  All of the West Coast-built boats (Aeromarine) had encapsulated ballast that I know of.  All ballast was lead.
