I want to give a big thanks to Mick who has offered to answer some rudder
questions having just dealt with rudder issues himself.  I am excited to
take on the challenge of replacing my rudder post.  It will be nice to know
it is fixed and not worry when surfing off a big wave and applying pressure
on the rudder.  Perhaps, maybe now I will be able to get to sleep tonight
and not obsess on corroded bronze rudder material!!  By the way, I painted
the interior of Renard with Pettit Z-Spar 105 undercoating with 2 coats
after relentless scraping and sanding.  The stuff is amazing it filled and
leveled and did all that stuff it says it will do.  Now, I will sand the
undercoat with 220 and apply Pettit Z-Spar semi-gloss off white enamel.  Its
pretty hard to get out of your hair but I am very impressed with the outcome
on the interior glass of the boat.  If anyone wants pics let me know.
