[Public-List] Spreader Lengths

    Danny has done at least two Alberg 30 masts and I cannot remember if 
they had aerofoils for spreader shapes or not, but I think they did. I 
do not think they could have been out to 40"past any brackets unless 
they are set into the mast to avoid having to get a compression fitting 
that far up inside.  I have mine in the house so I measured them and 
they are 37 inches from end to end. The bolt to hold it into the bracket 
is 1" from the one end and the wire is about 5/8" in from the other end. 
I am guessing but think the bolt to bolt distance through the mast would 
be between 6 and 7 inches. You do not want them to be out to the 
chainplates but they are close enough as it is. I have taken my boat up 
canals often and the one thing one has to watch is that the spreaders do 
not hit the  walls in locks.
    If you want the exact measurements of the mast from base to the 
spreaders and distance through the mast,  I can give you that since I 
have two masts here but I know they are different total lengths.
