I had a similar but different situation once with my first boat when I was
in college.  A buddy and I were sailing on the Hudson River up around Red
Hook New York and we docked at a little dock to go to town most likely get
more beer.  We got side tracked for a few hours and when we returned the
boat was hanging from a tree.  We did not notice that the mast had tangled
and the tide went out.  It was a 23 foot boat so a lot lighter then the
A30.  It was lifted enough to plainly see bottom paint a few inches below
the waterline.  There was nothing we could do but just go back to town and
most likely get more beer.
