Last pass I made through that territory the new head gaskets did not require doubling up. Worth asking to be sure. Also, start hitting those studs & nuts with Liquid Wrench (or some other good penetrating oil) for a few days before you open that beer and reach for the wrenches. A quality gasket scraper with a good edge will be worth it's weight too. Good luck & (try to) have fun.
