[Public-List] re-wiring

Hi everyone,
I am exited, my wife and I finally bought a house on Aquidneck Island in RI
(we have been renting for the last few years after moving from Maine) so now
I get to put Renard in the back section of the driveway. This will be the
first time I get to enjoy having the boat at the house with access to a
basement workshop etc and no crazy winter storage fees and trying to work
out of a Volkswagen parked next to the boat at the yard. Very exited for
the access for doing work over the winter (which will include replacing my
rudder post ((after a season of worrying about it snapping)) I will take
pictures and try and document). My question is: has anyone had their boat
professionally rewired? I have nothing extra electronically on Renard. She
just has the basic nav. lights, spreader lights, interior lights but I would
like to add a bigger panel so in the future I can add an auto pilot and
maybe radar? Anyway, what does this basic re-wire roughly cost to have done
professionally? I also like the idea of sacrificing a cabinet in the main
salon and putting the panel in there behind closed door. Can I use a
residential electrician from the yellow pages or do I have to find a
specialist?
Thanks a bunch,
Happy early fall! And happy Friday!
