Dear Fellow Albergers,

Thanks for all the Genoa downhaul info, it makes me more thankful for my
lazy man's roller furling.

Our boat, #114, has what I take to be the original rig on the mainsheet: 2
3/4" single sheaves at the aft corners of the cockpit, a double block at the
boom and a winch centered on the aft deck between the hatch and the cockpit.
There's a 4" cleat in the cockpit aft of the tiller. All this forms a sort
of "A" shape.

One of the sheaves is wearing out, the aged plastic is giving up the ghost.
I will probably replace it all and keep it as original as I can, but I do
miss having a traveler as I 've had on other boats. Any of you that have
already gone this route? What traveler and block combination have you used?
Anyone have a lower block/cam cleat like I had on my old Catalina?

I'd be very grateful for advice and photos.

Lastly, any of you within rifleshot of Gloucester would be more than welcome
to an Open House we are having at my shop on November 13. If you are
interested in woodworking and metalworking, or pipe organs, you won't find a
more exciting place. More info at www.cbfisk.com.

Thanks,

Greg
