[Public-List] soldering vs. crimping

In addition to the problem of wire breaking at the edge of the solder,
the heat destroys the gas-tight connection of a good crimp. (NASA uses
crimps instead of solder in space, as their tests have shown it superior
for connecting wire.) On top of that is the need to remove all of the
flux residue, which will otherwise absorb moisture and create
electrolysis problems between the solder and wire.
