[Public-List] Painting the mast and boom

Joe.
I have painted a mast and boom with Awlgrip. It is a multi step
process of cleaning etching priming and painting that needs to be
followed for the best results. Also you need to strip all the hardware
off the mast. If you cut in around fittings the paint will start
peeling there in a couple of seasons.
I have a painted rig on Solstice and I have peeling paint everywhere
that salt spray can hit the rig. I have tried to scrape and repaint
but have found that it doesn't last and is not worth the effort.
I know the bare Aluminum doesn't look the greatest (dull gray). But I
would love to have it compared to what I have
