[Public-List] Diesel tank

I’m a new Alberg 30 owner. I lost my Niagara 26 during the last Hurricane. I’m trying to bring live back into #163. I just installed a new to me Volvo diesel. Now I’m replacing the old gas tank...it’s in bad shape. I’m thinking on replacing it with a plastic tank and mounting in under the cockpit floor.  Is this ok?  I had to cut a hole to provide access during the engine installation.  There seem to be room. thanks rich  Velero#163
