[Public-List] Alberg 30 rudder question?

Happy New Year friends -

I agree... I don't think there is any particular class-wide problem with
rudders in A30's insofar as how gracefully they have aged.  What issues
individual boats may have has more to do with the effects of wear over the
decades.

A while ago I was speaking with a fellow who worked at Whitby Boatworks
about this sort of thing; we were both remarking how amazing it is that
there are so few big issues considering the age of most of the boats.  He
told me that when they were cranking them out during the high production
years "we never thought they'd still be around forty years later".   When
you look at how other yachts built in the same era...and many others built
much more recently have aged, the Alberg 30 really shines.

Pouring rain here - I am trying to convince myself that we won't be having
any winter here on Georgian Bay after all this year....
