[Public-List] Spinnaker pole topping lift location

I just use a block with a line attached that I cleat to one of the bow
cleats. I lead my spinnaker downhaul through the block with one end attached
to the bridle on the pole and the other end back to the cockpit. That way I
have nothing permanent attached to the boat and can stow the whole thing
when not in use.

A better way to rig the spin pole downhaul on boats our size is to lead it
to a block at the foot of the mast. That way you don't have to adjust it
every time the pole's guy is adjusted... And you don't have to touch it when
gybing.

Think of the pole downhaul as doing the same job as the boom vang...but for
a different spar.
