[Public-List] waterline height

Or get my wife to do it - ; )
June did a terrific job on Sunstone's waterline in a tightly packed winter
storage compound. It needs to be thinner in the middle and wider at the ends
or else the waterline will appear to droop - the width difference is
striking when doing it, but necessary.
The stern is wider than the bow, and that's not just old age ; )
Yer looking at something like 6" or more at the stern.
Make it high enough that the waterline paint isn't immersed or it will
bubble. We used one part Interlux Brightside Polly Urethane and a foam
brush - great gloss and colour retention and don't skip the primer.
Use the expensive pea green 3M plastic tape - gives a much sharper edge than
regular painters tape including the regular green painters tape and
solvents/paints don't affect it. Forget the blue painters tape too. 3M is
the way to go for edging tape painting - once you use it, you won't mind the
price - the results are fantastic.
Its also great for when you are expoxying the bottom - 3M, way to go.
Best of luck.
