[Public-List] propellors

     Having sailed on the Chesapeake since 1958, I guess I qualify as 
experienced. Bronze propellors have no free copper and they attract 
barnacles just like  the average rock.

     I tried Penaten years ago and it works on stationary objects. The 
trouble with propellors is they spin so fast they wear the paint off, 
even hard bottom paint. I have tried a hard primer and it wears off, too.

     I had my prop scraped by a diver in September and when the boat was 
hauled Friday there were barnacles, but still small ones.  It gets worse 
from here on.

     I guess I'll have to have a diver scrape the prop - cheaper than a 
haulout.
