[Public-List] removing bottom paint

I have heard that soda blasting, like anything else can be very damaging in
the wrong hands. I've come across horror stories though I can't recall the
details.

Two years ago I used Franmar Soy Strip to get back to gelcoat. I'm a big fan
of methaline chloride (not on fiberglass) and expected the Franmar Soy Strip
to be nearly worthless like all the other "friendly paint removers" I've
tried. I was pleasantly suprised that it worked well. I'd coat a section
then cover with saran wrap. A few hours later and a scraper took the few
layers of hard paint right off. I'd use it again. Not difficult, easy to
contain the paint.
