Bronze! Bronze! Bronze! I have seen first hand the effects of crevice  
corrosion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crevice_corrosion) and it was  
NOT pretty. On my previous boat, the stainless bolts fastening the  
gudgeons looked fine from the outside, but on removal were found to be  
dangerously corroded.

Pacific Fasteners in Toronto have a good supply of bronze fasteners -  
they have outlets in Vancouver and Seattle as well.
