[Public-List] Michael 133 - Hull thickness question

George's tank will work out fine. Bit tricky to put in place though. Will
likely have to wait until spring for completion due to the weather which is
now cool for glass work, however the prep work is "fun".

Richard,
You could also try wooden blocking to shore the bracket against the outer
hull. It would be better to screw something into the new backet temporarly
rather than the hull.
My two cents. BTW I guess the tank from Geroge worked out? Just placed the
group order for tanks yesterday, so you are about a month ahead of us.

Installing a saddle tank in the stb locker to replace the tank under the
cockpit sole.
I have the tank, courtesy of another member of this site, but now need to
install a "bracket" to secure it with, which I have fashioned out of epoxy
coated wood. Now need to gently screw that bracket into the hull wall/side
while west system sets up, then fibreglass over all.
So, that's my tale, but running out of heat for fibregalss work!

I can't speak to that exact spot, but I removed/replaced or filled all the
below-the-waterline seacocks on the whole boat and the hull was around 3/8"
thick (and pretty uniform for all of them (#221).
I'm trying to remember if I drilled or looked at any holes above the
waterline... I don't think so, but if I remember any I will reply again.
I'll admit that I'm curious why you are asking :) (But my mind just works
that way - not that I'm challenging you or anything like that!)
