[Public-List] Bend in the hull

Stephen,

You'll notice that the chainplate knees are attached to the inside of 
those dimples.  There is some space between the tops of those knees and 
the underside of the deck.  This allows the knees to rotate in, 
slightly, until the knee hits the underside of the deck.

On most boats the dimple is barely noticeable unless the light is 
reflecting off of it, as the gap above the knee is less than 1/4".  If 
it's much greater than this, I think I would push a wedge in between the 
knee and the deck to give the rigging less mechanical advantage as it 
tries to tear the knee off the inside of the hull.
