Interesting story. What is the British Registry, and what does it do? Do you have contact information?

When I bought my Alberg 30 from Charlie Haggart in Toronto the boat was named TRILLIUM III...a name that I found a bit ponderous and that had no emotional connection for me. I didn't want to change the name -- superstitions again -- but, I found my solution to the naming dilemma when I received the British Registry for the boat (a holdover from the Commonwealth days I assume). The registry listed the names and owners of the boat going back to 1966. This is where I found the original name of the boat -- JANTE II. I decided then to reemploy that name. In my mind that would certainly appease the sea gods. Most importantly, I like the idea that there is some old guy out there who wonders occasionally -- "whatever happened to JANTE II?" I think that he would be happy to know that she is in good hands and features the same name.
