Our engines are made from iron and have a zinc anode that sacrifices its self so that our engines may survive. Galvanizing is zinc coating of  "black iron" pipe. Adding more zinc to the equation cannot be a good thing!  Adding other metals , such as stainless or bronze , must make shuffling of electrons much more vigorous ! Use " black iron" , check and change zincs often , enjoy!

Subject: [Public-List] Muffler Design

I have taken the muffler apart and have sketched it and have pictures - most
of the shops around here are estimating ~$400.00 for a Stainless Steel-- but
have not gotten into details after the first estimate. The biggest problem
appears to be the 3.5" SS outer tube as they say that they have to buy a
longer length and have a lot of drop -

I will clean up the sketch and send pics - just contact offline with
"Muffler" as subject and I will send -
