[Public-List] Richard H - Fuel Tanks- Return Line

Andrew and Mike are correct. Keep diesel fuel as cool as possible and
that return line should be as far away from the fuel inlet system as
possible. I had a probelm on my 6.2 L GM diesel with a fuel pump that
was supposed to be cooled by the fuel passing through it. That GM put
the pump on the block did not help, but if the pump were too hot, it
would shut down and leave me on the side of the road. The solution was
to mount the pump on heat sink and keep the fuel tank full in the
summer so there would be mass for cooling any fuel returned from the
injectors. Sine the pump has been on the heat sink, I have had no problems.
