Jacques,
Did you check the spark again after it stopped?
If you dribbled a little gas into the carb air intake, would it run for
a few minutes and then stop? That would indicate a fuel problem.
How old is the fuel line? I had an old line deposit small rubber
granules into the carb that made the engine quit at inappropriate times
until I cleaned out the carb. For the short run, I found pulling the
jet and blowing into the hole where it's screwed in via a piece of
tubing (or a couple straws put together) would clear it temporarily.
