My outboard sits in the well much like the one on the video.  My outboard, however, is a more robust 4 stroke, 9.9 horsepower with an extra long shaft.  If anything, I get more power with this engine (motoring up and down the Detroit and St. Clair Rivers) than I did with the old 25 hp inboard.  The engine controls are in the cockpit.  Like others, I did not like the fact that I could not get good access to the inboard...I also like being able to take the engine fully out of the boat if there is a maintenance issue that requires a trip to the shop.  I do like being able to turn/steer the engine in tight quarters and I have a little hatch in front of the engine that facilitates that movement when required.  I kept the old fuel tank from the inboard and use that to supply fuel to the outboard.  I have an in-line fuel water separator / filter system that keeps it all healthy.  I have a big solar panel on my companionway hatch cover and with the alternator on the engine and two huge batteries, I stay topped off all of the time.  I plan on adding another two solar panels -- one permanent panel on the forward cabin hatch -- and one that can be temporarily put out for use on the aft end of the boat.

I have something similar in #439. Mine does not tilt, I store the engine (stern rail eventually) when away from the boat and mount it on weekends I use the boat. It only takes a few minutes to pop it in there, though it may be too much awkward weight for some to manage easily. 
I like it, and hated the Atomic 4 (but the Atomic 4 was old, so it can be excused)
I have sworn to never put anything in my boat I can't lift by myself, and preferably with one hand, so I will never again have an inboard.
DISADVANTAGES* You have less power against tides, currents, wind. I was maxing out at 2 knots against a strong current Sunday. I think a proper inboard would done much better. I can reach hull speed if there's no current with a 6hp Tohatsu Sailer Pro 25 inch, however. 
* Less power means you have to sail better, make smarter decisions, etc. That's OK. People used to sail without engines according to some books I have read.
* I fear my outboard will be stolen. I never feared my inboard would be stolen.
* Less power generation, but I plan to go with solar panels, which are getting cheaper and better.
* The lazarette gets a bit wet from inboard exhaust, and I imagine it will need a good scrubbing from time to time to keep it clean.
ADVANTAGES* Cheaper than a new inboard, esp if you do the work yourself. And I can completely replace my engine in minutes when it is stolen. 
* More space in the cabin. The old engine area can be converted into a massive battery bank. Useable space is lost in the lazarette, however. But overall you gain space.
* The outboard is directional, which can come in handy in tight quarters. 
* My fuel tanks are removable, which seems to make it easier to refuel. 
* The lazarette is sealed off from the rest of the boat, so no fuel fumes or engine smells.
OTHER NOTES* I don't think the trim of the boat is affected either way. My engine weight 25 percent of what the Atomic 4 did (guessing). And you can always mount a 35lb anchor and chain up front to even things out if you have concerns.
* People seem to think you are an unworthy yachtsmen if your sailboat has an outboard, and in my case they are correct. But that's their problem.
