Greg,

I used a 22# Delta for some time, but it occasionally dragged in soft bottoms. I am using a similar weight  Manson Supreme now, and am impressed with it.

Subject: [Public-List] New Hook

I'm thinking about a new hook, mostly for cruising in Maine. From what I
read it looks like a Delta on a bow roller will fill the bill. I can't make
up my mind whether the 14 pound is enough or whether the 22 is more prudent.
A thirty foot boat like ours falls right in between the recommendations on
the Delta site. With no windlass, I don't want to overdo it. I'll probably
put about 30 feet of 5/16 chain on the existing rope rode.

Opinions? Experience?

Thanks,
