You're quite right. It is a bit dated. What other class association has 
a website that's over 16 years old?

I moved it off of Compuserve in 2000 
(http://web.archive.org/web/20000919210221/http://www.alberg30.org/) to 
make it easier to keep it going for the long term.

The site doesn't have a bunch of javascript widgets.  It's designed for 
low bandwidth.  Originally that accommodated people with 286 machines 
and dial-up modems. Now it accommodates people who have slow cell-phone 
connections while cruising.

I'm not chasing web technology fads for the Alberg site any more than 
I'm chasing boat design fads.  I'm satisfied with longevity and reliability.

P.S. I moved off of yahoogroups because they started putting webbugs 
into the emails to track viewing.  Remember, if a commercial company is 
providing a service at no cost to you, then /you/ are the product they 
are selling.
