#329 has a Goiot size 30 hatch over the saloon with a substantial teak base
that I want to remove so that I can inspect and re-bed. Since she is a
Magothy area boat and has many of the other upgrades found on boats from
the area, I am wondering if anyone has experience with disassembling a base
ring like the one in this album:

It appears that the interior frame should come apart from the rest of the
structure but it is glued/epoxied together. The same glue line appears on
the top also but is much more solid. My best guess is to work the bottom
joint loose and lift out the upper part. Before I destroy anything though,
I wish to get some experienced advice.

BTW, the bottom ring has 3/16" screws that go up into the cabin top but are
not long enough (3/4") to draw the upper and lower parts together, if in
fact that is how it is assembled.
