hello Jim,  I may have  misunderstood your earlier post.  are you asking about replacing the cockpit coamings, or the toe rails around the hull/deck joint?  I was referring to the toe rails around the edge of the boat in my earlier reply.

If you wish to replace your cockpit comings, it would be an easy fix to make them out of 1" X6 x 8' teak boards, and wouldn't be all that expensive, maybe $200to $300 for materials.  Nothing beats varnished teak in the cockpit.  you could even box in the aft end and put a nice 
Ittle cap rail around the top!
