[Public-List] sailing without an engine

Well they were damned good seamen, but they did ships to weather while on
blockade off France, including at least one three-decker 1st rate off Brest
in a terrible gale.  There's a famous painting of it.  A cutter's Lt in
command won himself a knighthood for his courage in the rescue effort - his
little 80 ton cutter is in the painting.

Naturally I forget the name of the ship.  I'll sit up in bed tonight and
slap my forehead after shouting the name....
