Wow - this is an old one. If it still works, doesn't leak and if there is no
evidence of electrolysis (pink colored bronze parts), I would think it is
fine to clean up and reuse.

Subject: [Public-List] Seacock Advice
Hello
One of the spring projects is to inspect and replace any suspect plumbing. I
was able to free the ancient head exit seacock and need some advice on it's
future.
The housing is still attached to the boat and the guts are cleaned up at
home. http://muvvachicken.com/images/alberg30/head-seacocksz.JPG
>From some searching it appears the fitting is a Wilcox-Crittenden. Any
advice on inspecting and rebuilding these? I found this link with some good
info and instructions. http://www.pearson35.com/projects/sea_cock.htm From
that doc it seems like I basically clean it up and grease it. Anything
specific to look out for? Seems like a sturdy bit of kit, be it older than
me. :)
As it's bolted to the hull I'd rather not tear it out and replace unless I
have to, but want to do this once.
I appreciate any advice
Chris
