Bingo.  Working with wind and tide is part of the art of sailing.

I have stayed in an anchorage until 2 pm waiting for a favorable tide to
continue a trip, and even then only made 2 knots over ground for the
first hour or so.  No practical amount of additional horsepower would
have made a significant different ...
