I think I have that same mooring bit:

I love it. It replaced the two large cleats that were originally on the
deck. The cleats were big, but couldn't accommodate the large mooring
pendants we see in Maine. This bit is great. When picking up a mooring,
especially in windy conditions it is nice to just drop the loop over the
pendant and let the boat settle back on it, even huge pendants. No
downsides I can see.
