Bob;
I would recommend paying the price to have a travellift put it on your trailer.  They can very gently place it where on the trailer it should be and then you can carefully adjust all the pads etc. while the travellift takes all the weight.  No risk of damage to the boat, the trailer, or the truck trying to haul it out of the water.
