Gord,

I painted Dolce's interior  cabin with two coats of Interlux one part poly seven years ago and it still looks like new!  I did strip and sand all the old layers of paint off and recoated the FG areas with two coats of interlux primer (overkill probably- see below).  Also coated some  FG areas having many year accumulation of mildew  with wood fungicide to kill spore and let dry for several days prior to putting on the primer.  Dolce's interior was black from neglect and long term storage when we bought the boat.  Now looks like new after all these years.

Since then over the years I have painted most of the under bunk/interior cabinet areas with the one part poly, only doing a good wash down, degreasing and light sanding as needed.  The paint holds up well on old surfaces with no primer, if you are careful with the sanding and prep.
