Gord,

I painted our boat many, many years ago with Benjamin Moore oil-based 
semi-gloss with a mildew resistant additive and it looks like I painted 
yesterday. Prep is the secret. Sand the gelcoat to remove the gloss and 
clean to remove any oil. I don't think you can buy this paint any more, so 
something like Brightside would work...I don't like high gloss below but I 
think there is a flattening agent for the paint.

Every boat, every year gets a small amount of mildew painted or not. What I 
have discovered is Mr. Clean Magic Erasers...I don't know what is in them 
but they work like a miracle
