Agree with Gord - best to measure your setup, and account for
1) taking the shackle as far as you need to (to the deck forward e.g.)
2) margin for going around a winch and/or a cleat at the bitter end
3) making an eye splice at the shackle (leave a few feet for a few
tries!)
4) End-for-ending it after a few years and putting a new eye splice on
Hope to see a # 11 spinnaker on the bay this summer!

Hi there -
Spinnakers are great. The length of line you'll need depends
completely on
how rig your uphaul and down haul, but 3/8" for everything is fine
(halyard, lift, sheets etc.)
