[Public-List] Forestay attachment fitting

Hello to the Albergers of the East,

As I'm going through all points on this new (to me) boat, I have come
across a bit of a problem that I hope the solution will solve two problems.

1. This boat (644) does not have any means of lowering an anchor except
hand over hand. As I look at what the solution could be, another problem
reared its head. Which brings me to problem 2.

2. For lack of better terminology, the triangular fitting at the bow
holding the forstay, it appears to be made of aluminum. It sits flat on the
deck and forms sides where the end of the rail is. What I have discovered
is that there are pin holes in the flat portion of the fitting in about an
area of 3/4 of an inch.

My assumption is that it needs to be replaced. My hope is there is
something fairly inexpensive that can replace it, and at the same time, can
be tied into some sort of anchor assist.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, and thanks to all who maintain such a
great resource as the manual and public list

As I work through the issues on this great boat, I have set a target for
re-splash of November 1. This I thought nothing about until reading all the
stories of you guys having to pull your boats out for the winter, the
thought never crossed my mind. I now have renewed respect for the winter
weather here in the SF Bay. So in a not so direct way, you guys have helped
me again, and thank you.
