Don  ; do you sail barefoot ?  I have walked on a deck that had been treated, but I did not ask with what, and it was too aggressive.  It was hard on bare feet.

I used Kiwi Grip on my boat and love the stuff. Super easy to use and apply.
Did not use any primers, the manufacturers rep said none was needed; it covered multi colored spots on deck with no bleed thru or issues.
I used it on the diamond textured sea-hood and it turned out beautiful,  I wish I had known about this paint before I spent hours sanding down the texture, its not required.
Its important to use a notched trowel to apply it (work with small areas) then use kiwi Grips "loopy goopy" roller lightly over the paint to get the texture. I used the three inch roller sleeve for the whole deck as I had a more finite control tweaking the paint then with the large sleeve and the results were superior.
Put it on much thicker than you would regular paint, it hides imperfections and levels itself well. Its a little counter-intuitive at first if you've worked a lot with other paints but once you see it in action you get used to it and the fact that it will stay where you put it when applying a thick paint film. People usually have covering issues if they apply the paint to thinly or they don't use a notched trowel and the manufactures roller.
Remove the tape before the paint film starts to dry and pull back along the tape to remove; try not to lift the tape up as the paint cures like a plastic and you don't want to lift the edge of the paint that's stated to cure.
It took two gallons to do the deck and cockpit non-skid areas. After a crossing from San Diego to Hawaii and two years under the tropical sun its still looking great and holding fast.
