Gord,
 Did you cut the entire shelf back or only at the shoulders? Every time I
turn over at night I bump in to that shelf.

I sleep feet forward in the starboard fore cabin bunk in SURPRISE.  The
level of comfort improved dramatically when I cut the shelf back to the
width of the fibre glass tabbing.  There's still enough width on the shelf
for me to put my glasses, stand a book or stow a pocket flashlight; but the
bunk itself is much more comfortable.  I can also reach the light on the
bulkhead to turn it off without getting out of bed.

Only two months till launching day....
